2024 Southeastern and Northeastern GSA Meetings

ES-SEPM continues to sponsor technical sessions as well as a reception with a keynote speaker at the annual Northeastern GSA and Southeastern GSA meetings.

The 2024 Northeastern GSA meeting (NEGSA) 17-19 March 2024, Manchester, New Hampshire

The Eastern Section of the Society for Sedimentary Geology (ES-SEPM) and the Sedimentary Geology Division of GSA will hold a reception with a Keynote Address at NEGSA. It will be held on Sunday evening, March 17, from 6:30 to 8:00PM, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown. This is a non-ticketed event, and the reception will immediately precede the keynote address.

The Keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Dennis Terry, Associate Professor, Department of Earth and Environmental Science, Temple University and Chair-elect of the GSA Soils and Soil Processes Division. The title of his Keynote Address is:

Challenges to Interpreting Terrestrial Environments of the Catskill Mountains Region.

The 2024 Southeastern GSA meeting (SEGSA) 15-16 April, Asheville, North Carolina

Joint Eastern Section SEPM and GSA Sedimentary Division Reception and Keynote Address: Monday, April 15th, 7:00-8:30PM, Top of the Plaza, 12th Floor, Asheville Renaissance Hotel.

This year’s speaker is Dr. Kathleen Farrell, Senior Geologist with the North Carolina Geological Survey, who will be giving a talk entitled:

Integrating Sequence Stratigraphy, Geomorphology (LiDAR) and 3D Subsurface Mapping to Define the Pliocene and Quaternary Section for the Updip Sector of the Atlantic Coastal Plain.

Both events are non-ticketed, and everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

The following field guides are available at no charge to active ES-SEPM members on a first come-first served basis. Please e-mail the Section Secretary/Treasurer Katie Luciano (lucianok@dnr.sc.gov) a list of guides you would like to receive. If your membership is not up to date, please send in your dues before or with your request for the guides. Any contributions for shipping are welcome. Thank you.
